THE CHALLENGE:  Design and transform a vehicular-dominated, insular campus into an integrated urban environment that can accommodate significant growth in student enrollment and research demands while fostering collaboration, industry partnership, and innovation.

• Co-creation process involving students and staff members

• Pedestrian-focused active public realm 

• New settings for collaboration

• Transportation demand management plan

SURPRISE!   The site visit and careful analysis revealed active pedestrian use in the surroundings despite the car-centric design.
